14 Grouse

Trust Tilly's answer more than mine...... but I have also come up with WREN but for a different reason.

Nobody nows the site or date of the Industrial Revolution. It was the effect of many inventions within the space of a few years, and hence no specific site can be quoted

Therefore I am going to say that the Industrial Revolution started with the invention of the wheel. (wheel /revolutions etc)
The wheel would have been invented by a caveman or a "troglodyte"

The wren is a member of the Family trogloditidae

Hence the answer WREN - you said it was rather tenuous
