when i put it in on google they all just come up with "collector of spoons" in the oxford dictionary a Spooner is a noun so that would appear likely
Names for lovers/collectors of things are usually formed from the appropriate Greek word plus the other Greek word 'phile'. On that basis, a collector of spoons would be a koutalophile.

Thank you for all the suggestions.!!! I have gone on another search myself and in America they definately do call themselves "Spooners".Koutalophile sounds good but cannot find it anywhere.
Patsyann, The Oxford English Dictionary offers three meanings for the noun 'spooner'. The first is a maker of spoons, the second is a spoon-holder, on the same lines as a 'creamer' is a receptacle for cream, and the third is an old-fashioned word for a type of lover. (A 'snogger' would probably be the modern British equivalent.)
'Koutalophile', the word I offered earlier, was one I just created for you from the appropriate Greek bits. As you say, it doesn't appear to exist out there in the wide world. That's why I suggested that such words are usually formed thus and that spoon-collectors would be so called. Perhaps the Americans do just use the word 'spooner', as you suggest.
Brilliant answe, tellboy.
