Can anyone give me advice on where to ask if a hardback edition of The Peoples Friend dated 1892 would be worth anything. Good condition . large volume. Thanks for any help

I typed 'old book valuations uk' into google and it came up with several sites. Perhaps if you have a look at those there will be some numbers you can call.
BathAntiquesOnline.com might be worth taking a look at.
This one is not quite so old but it will give you an idea of value. https://tinyurl.com/yc6vzljc This book is still for sale so there it isn't certain that someone would pay £50 for it.

This is from eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANTIQUE-BOOK-PEOPLE-S-FRIEND-ANNUAL-VOLUME-XXVII-1895/123040560071?hash=item1ca5c9f3c7:g:W~QAAOSw241Ybirq

Good luck
Do you have any auctioneers near you ? They might have open days from time to time, so you could visit and show the item to an appropriate expert.
