All the four remaining answers I need will be male singers or male groups, pop or classical.
Pop group entertainment before fifty-one once (5)
Simpleton fish (6,3)
O for M1 in Blackfriar (8)
He can give me a cod (7)

Please can anyone help with any of them. Thank you.

I am sure the "He can give me a cod" one caused lots of problems a few months ago. You can do a search on AB to find the threads
2 Simply red
3 (Val) Doonican
Previously details have been given about where the answers must come alphabetically as they were in alphabetical order. Is that still the case with this quiz? I recall the cod one came between Caruso and Crosby
I'm thinking that the first one should end in 'LI', as in fifty-one in Roman numerals.
The group EXILE sort of works for the first one although the I and L are the wrong way round
Is there a group called Gigli anywhere? GIG - LI
Beniamino Gigli was an Italian opera singer
Gigli will be right. I recall the answers were generally classical.
I can't work out Doonican yet from the clue
^Dominican with MI replaced by O
Thanks Captain

Thank you everyone for your briliant answers; you are all clever/devious! Thank you Bakers Dozen and Calibax for Gigli, thank you Cashier for Simply Red and thank you Cashier for (Val) Doonican. As Fiction-Factory says, the "he can give me a cod" answer will start after BI but before CA.
Really grateful to you all.
I recall something like caedmon being given for the last one but if it's an anagram there is no N
Just a thought I know that my grandson calls the game Call of Duty COD. Does that give anyone ideas.
Yes Bakers Dozen- I remember spending some time going down that avenue (culdesac?) a couple of months ago. There's loads of music used in COD but nothing in particular and nothing that would fit here as far as I could see
I recall there was a male opera/musicals singer who got married at Cape Cod but that's a bit tenuous. Was it BochelI
Thanks for update fiction-factory. It's a bit of a stinker this one.
I did wonder whether clue should say CODE
Bocelli fits alphabetically but he married last time in Italy. We did find someone who married in Cape Cod
What are you talking about? Local Music Quiz? It's the Three Choirs quiz closing 7th April, or someone's misleading you.
