Me again!... ...the answers are all parts of a house, including fixtures and fittings that can be found in a house. Some SOUND like the word and some are contained within the complete answer.

The question is Andy Capp's wife (3)

I know it is FLO, but is a flo (flow) a fixture or fitting?
Am I missing something here???

Help please! :o)

overFLOw ??

Have you ever heard of it just being called a 'flow' (flo) though, Dave?
Leecon - No, I was going by the instuctions - some are contained WITHIN the complete answer. I'm probably misinterpreting, but would like to see a for instance.

I've looked at this again and I think you are correct Davemano, although I think it is a bit misleading. Surely it should have read (8) letters really.
i.e. Q43 is 'home to QPR and is (6,4). The part of the house is contained in the answer but the setter didn't say (4) as with the 'flo one. Maybe I am confusing things a making it too difficult.
I shall go with the 'flo' ;o)
Thank you for your help :o)
Unless they are implying it sounds like - Floor.
Could it be overflow- (question about Flo)
43. LOFTus Road
Leecon has that one.
Which one Lynne?
Loftus road

I agree with mamya that flo might be meant to sound like floor
43

They used it as an example as to why 'Over =flow' seems wrong.

Q Andy Capp's wife (3)
'Overflow' hit an extra key, sorry
danny- I read it that Leecon knew the answer LOFt from the 6,4 answer LOFTUS ROAD- but was querying why that was given as 6,4 when the answer is 4, whereas flo/overflow is given as 3 not 8
With answer to the QPR Home clue being LOFTus Road - this is quite obvious as a part of a house - hence no letters indicated. The (3) letters put in to indicate the answer to Andy Capp's wife was presumably because her name is actually Florrie and the abbreviation "flo" was required. I favour the answers from Davemo & Danny as "overFLOw."
You'd write 'Overflow' on the quiz sheet despite a letter count of 3 being given?
The post reads that the answers are parts of a house flo(3) is not part of a house
//Some SOUND like the word and some are contained within the complete answer. //

LOFTus Road - Contained

Flo - Sounds like
What did the plumber say when he finished with his girlfriend?
It's over Flo!
(Sorry!)
The instructions also say that the solutions can sound like a part of a house
Agreed Lynne but it is the part of the house that sounds like, not something that sounds like part of the house."All answers are parts of a house"
