OH and I are considering making a big decision regarding our future. Over a meal last weekend we jokingly said we would wait and see if the universe sent us a sign. Does anybody believe in such daft happenings.

I'd do it in a blink of an eye Sam... Being tied to a house and garden, no, stuff that. do it whilst you can. As long as you have the funds and a flat to come back to. Being a slave to material things is not much fun. All the best xx

Yes, I " do" signs, go for it . :-)
Yes I do also.
I had to visit hospital for results of tests for bone marrow cancer.
The week prior I saw 5 funeral possessions.
Guess what the result was ?
Yes cancer diagnosed at my ripe old age of 54.
But good news is that it is Myeloma and very treatable , but not curable yet.
So yes it was a sign.

sorry, I have no idea how that happened....

woof your link is not working - well not for me.
I got the second one -

Sapel - I think it depends on the individual - if you want to see a sign you will see one.
Sort of weird being told you may have either 5 years , 10 years or maybe longer to live.
It's 50% chance of 5 years and 33% chance of 10 years.
So I'm looking for other signs now lol
I will not ever collect my state pension anyway .
Wonder if they will refund me the 37 years of NI I have paid :-)

Never smoked , don't drink alcohol and never taken drugs.
Still got cancer.
So smoke , drink and get high is my advice
Awww. So sorry to hear your news Raven...Keep looking for those signs and prove them wrong (the doctors, that is) xxx

Yes, I do Sam. x

Funny Woofgang, but I wasn't thinking of starting a forest fire. The sign in the other link isn't the one either.
Sorry to hear of you SirRandyRaven - don't despair - I know it is easier said than done.

A friend of mine has been battling cancer about 8 years now - and was able to collect her pension LOL.

I do think her positive attitude has kept her going. Thinking of you x

With that encouragement here goes. Many years ago, we took a year out and went sailing across the Atlantic to explore The Americas. I would like to sell up, the house we built over 30 years ago including our garden with 30 years work in it. Buy a flat as a back up. Buy a new boat and go sailing for as long as our health holds. OH is still considering the proposal, hence the sign thing. Yesterday evening, an estate agent I happen to know turned up at our door. He has a client that wants to buy our house for cash, above my valuation, no chain. Now you see what I mean about a sign.

I've never really felt tied Mazie, this place has been our little bit of heaven for a long time. We just have an itch that needs scratching, I feel it's now or never, OH still needs a little push.
I do believe is signs , yes.

For you and your wife Sam it sounds wonderful, do it.

SirAndy, I send you all the strength you need.x

Thank you Mazie. Thank you Mamyalynne, I always expect to get the right encouragement from you. It's time to follow up on this buyer and make sure everything is hunky-dory. Funnily enough, I already have my eye on a catamaran.
Thanks for the kind thoughts.

Sapelsam ~ Do it. Life is too short and you never know what's around the corner.
I remember this from the King James bible:

"A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah."

A lot of content here. The Jonah reference involves sea travel, a few dodgy moments and a happy outcome.

Best wishes to you both whatever you decide.
o god sir randy what a posser
anyway good luck

and no I dont think seeing five funerals had anything to do with the bone marrow
o good you looked at the chart I have just done

I was told it was 50% for ca colon when I got it at age 47
twenty years ago
and lymphoma with a relapse - 50% again

seems to be a favourite number - just hang in there baby !
