Can they not sell two packs of ten?
I would think they stopped selling packets of ten some time ago in anticipation of the new ruling

Those who didn't have the sense to run stocks down will no doubt manage to do as Danny says to regular customers.
Packs of ten have been scrapped.
I think that's what Ivor means, if they still have some unsold in stock.

Oh....I thought he meant the plain packaging. Ignore me.

To be fair they have had a year to dispose of stock.

This from last May.

//There will be a one year transitional period to allow retailers to sell off old stock.
This means that from May 21, 2017 onwards the banned products will no longer be offered for sale. //
No one compensates them, this has been on the way for over a year now. If their stock control has been so poor they are left with unsaleable stock that's their fault. It is now illegal to sell tobacco products that are not in plain packs , cigarettes can only be sold in packs of 20. Tobacco is a minimum of 30g and a plain pack.
I have just bought tobacco for my daughter £9.96 for a 30 g pack is the cheapest that Tesco now sell.
^^ You used to be able to buy a 9g pack for £2.99 , now banned!
10 Clarion ....the purpose in banning lacks of ten, is that it will be less appealing to children, a move that I trust you support ?

Forest, the pro-lung cancer rights group, says the new rules "treat adults like naughty children" and "infantilize consumers".

This, from an organisation that is funded and supported by the tobacco industry !

Forest = Freedom Organisation for the Right to Enjoy Smoking Tobacco The name explains all, Forest is 100% funded by the tobacco industry!!
10ClarionSt....100% drivel I'm afraid !

Go on believing that cigarettes don't cause severe health problems if you wish, but its just peeing in the wind.
As I have said many times before, the new tobacco rules are ALL about making smoking less attractive to children in the hope of stopping them from starting in the first place! The current generation of smokers are a lost cause, they will smoke until they die , once they have all killed themselves the world will be a healthier, cleaner and safer place!
Let's not descend into name calling, this is an emotive topic but Ivor was enquiring re surplus stocks.
