Yahoo - What Are Those Number Puzzles About (Questions 1-3)?

I completely failed to understand them. Many of them were difficult to understand, yet those questions are aimed at 11-year-olds. Hope the link works:

Type Your Answer Here...You just have to work your way through looking for digits that feature in each word/pattern, looking for things like a letter that appears once as the first letter and once as the second, or look for a repeated sequence of letters/numbers. I need pen and paper for these though. I doubt many pupils would have the patience

It's hard to actually explain how to do them, however I have a quizzy brain so just do it my way.

Got 81% in total ashamed of a couple I got wrong.

I got the obtuse angle one wrong. I forgot what an obtuse angle was and just guessed :-)

Just a tip to anyone who does the quiz, you will need a pen and notepad. No chance in your head. But as a kid I may have had a chance.

I tried the first question but got it wrong - then I remembered that there are no Grammar schools in my country so I gave up.

I think that I could do it first thing in the morning when my brain wakes up - I knew 'how' to do it.

If they were "perfectly logical" to you, Captain, how come you couldn't offer an explanation?

@Tilly2: An obtuse angle is one which is larger than 90 degrees. The quiz offered TWO obtuse angles. I chose the correct one (via a guess)

Because if I offered an explanation as the first answer, it would ruin the puzzle for others following.

I was out until about 5pm Captain and only saw the thread pass through on Latest posts after being on a tandem thread. Then I did the quiz, I confess to not being as quick as I once was.

I was just staing the facts Togo. If you had posted your answer earlier, it may have put others off from having a go at the Puzzle ie No need to do Q1-3 because we can work the answers out from Togo post.
I wasn't having a go at anybody, just didn't want to spoil it.

You are correct Captain, I did not think when I flagged up the numbers, they were on my notepad and I just posted them on to Lynne so that she could have a look and make sense of them. By the way when ever I see your avatar it still reminds me of the "Duke Of Bridgewater" pub sign in Longport. I will need to log off for an hour or so. "She who must be obeyed" has need of the web for a while.
