Yes, I have. It is a scam, delete it.
Almost certainly a hacked email account. Don't reply as she will not see the message as her password most probably have been changed so she won't be able to read your message. I usually get a few of these in a year and if I know the person well I will phone them to warn them what has happened, if they don't already know, otherwise I just discard.

thank you both. i thought that was the case so will delete it
yes suedan I got that email last night I put it in spam what worries me is they had my email address too.
I've just deleted this e-mail which I received this morning. I suppose everyone in her address book will now get one.
Yes I received it too..deleted it as was obviously dodgy.
I received the email too. Deleted it as it seemed like a scam.
Sorry, haven't been n AB much lately and didn't see post.
I had one once from someone I do know saying were abroad and had been mugged. It said something like I have tears in my eyes as I write this. Anyone less likely a) to be mugged and b) have tears in their eyes - is difficult to imagine, so I guessed it was not true.
It was a scam and it turned out that they had their email hacked and sent this message to all their contacts.
