I assume this is a different 1a and 1d to the one you asked about earlier this month.
Do you have a clue for us please and letter count?
Do you actually think it is fair to ask without giving the clues?

1D Fresh chunk of money (4,7) and 1A ...by sounding familiar (5,3,3)
Think 1D migh be Cold M*l***n and 1A may be Catch The Ear??
Cool Million
cool million?
If 'Catch the ear'fits the crossers it seems ok.

Thank you for posting the clues.

Assuming I am asking people who do Pitcherwits do I really have to put in the whole clue as they would see it themselves???
If the clues not there people who don't have the paper can't help.
Fair enough so long as your realise that some of those who don't have the paper and like to help may now be put off from troubling themselves to help in future, so you may have to wait longer

By not posting the clues you are excluding the collective knowledge from many on this site.

Your choice.
The problem is that a lot of the clues are picture related and are quite difficult to explain, but obviously the op should the written clue below the picture
^ sorry 'should give the written clue'
One could explain that and then describe the picture.
Not that easy in some instances I'm afraid ie Re- picture of a bench - picture of a woman with a finger on her lips. Clue it kicked off the Protestants.
cath o licks
Sorry- cath licks = catholics. I'm sure that with a clue and letter count many members on here would have got that one quickly.
11 letters (I was actually just trying to show that is is quite difficult to explain what the pictures look like) the answer is reformation - so what I took to be a bench was actually a form!
It isn't easy - but infinitely easier than.......

1D
