My Cat Stopped Me Going To The Pub

I was looking forward to my weekly evening visit to the pub tonight so, knowing how my cat likes to follow me (with the possibility of her getting lost or run over), I tried to sneak out without her noticing.

I got 50 yards down the road and looked around. No cat.

I got 100 yards down the road and looked around. No cat.

But when I got a quarter of a mile down the road (and in sight of the railway station) and a familiar moggy ran past me. She was then quite close to a main road (and well out of her usual territory) so I was really worried.

So I spent the next 10 minutes playing chasing games with her, to persuade her to come back home. She's now safe and sound (curled up on my desk) but the trains only run every two hours, so I've missed out on my visit to see my drinking pals :(

Oh well, I suppose she's worth it!

Next time could you get it in before you go out?
Ohhhh she's a pretty one isn't she?
She is indeed. It's not often you see a cat with a ginger moustache.
Bloody hell, Chris. Very bad luck that, lovely cat though.
B00 thinks blobfish are pretty
Chris, she's lovely, a much better companion than the pub :-)
You will have to do the crosswords by yourself tonight, Chris.
That's one high maintenance cat Chris. Wouldn't it be strange if the train was cancelled, or worse, crashed. Might be worth checking.
You should have just stuffed it in your pocket.............
Aw, you are a sweetheart and she's lovely too, Chris, we're on our way with the beer
what's her name, chris?

OH says next time, put her on a lead, and take her with you :-)
Back in the 70's I got on the bus to go to work. The conductor shouted anyone own a grey cat. My Barney had jumped on the bus as it pulled away. He really was a law unto himself. The stuff that cat did, I could write a book on his exploits.
why don't you, jeza? The book about the commuting cat has been a best-seller!

Sandy:
I've got a 'cat gap' in my door at the moment. (i.e. it's a cat flap but without the flap after two fighting moggies destroyed it). So she comes and goes as she pleases.

B00:
She's stunningly beautiful. (That picture doesn't really do her justice). She walked into my house 4 weeks ago, helped herself to a free meal and (despite never having seen me before) jumped up onto my knee and fell asleep. She's been here ever since. I've no idea where she came from - I'd not seen her in the area before - and nobody has put any 'missing cat' posters up, so she's staying here now!
You've been owned.

Thanks for all of the other posts that appeared while I was typing.

Jeza:
I was worried that my cat might try to go for a train ride!

Tilly2:
I'm rubbish at crosswords really. I just help the others out a bit!

Boxtops:
I've called her 'Patches'. (Unoriginal but appropriate!).
So it's not actually your cat..............you've stolen it!
ouchy, hole in th'ole, must be a bit parky in your house with that?

And lucky you, having such a softy. Mine's currently under a chair glaring at me as i had to clean her backside earlier!
Ohhhhh, catnapper, Chris lol.
And just thought, if she's a she, you'd be as well making sure whether she's been spayed or not, otherwise you'll have a houseful before you know it!
