Can't get it yet - so far I've found Dame Angela but the letters left don't make a surname.
Question Author
this is driving me nuts - there are absolutely loads of first names in there but no surnames to follow - I hope competitor's companion reveal the answer soon
Some of the answers so far have been names of people that don't seem that famous to me

i wonder how roopower arrived at 'dame angela' - there are only two A's

sounds like a good quiz, where can i get a copy please?
Question Author
Well spotted, Excelsior. There is a Dame Angie, though, but that's not much help. The anagram is from the Competitor's Companion website where there's a new anagram everyday (the 'starshaker' anagram in the 'our' competitions section). If it's got me foxed, I can usually get the answer at anagram-solver.net - but not this time!
Sorry, watching TV at the same time - I obviously can't multi-task!
Have no pen and paper but can get Eugene Matilda I think
Question Author
yes - you can get Eugene Matilda from these letters but he doesn't seem to be anyone of any note - but you have the best answer so far
Or Matilda Eugene
MAGENTA would leave uileed

Eileen would leave autgamd
Can't get the rest for Nigel either
ELAINE would leave utgamed
So that's Natalie Gumede
Well done Factor
Question Author
Adele, Adelia, Angie, Daimen, Damien, Dan, Daniel, Dean, Delia, Eugene, Eugena, Glen, Glenda, Len, Lena, Madeline, Magdalene, Matilda, Melanie, Melinda, Nigel, Tina - just some of the first names that are there but none that have a surname to follow - I'm calling it a day now - off to the neighbours bonfire party - hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with the answer!!
I hope pip looked at the answer before she called it a day
pipdawg, Factor has got it ^^^^
Question Author
