Can anyone think of a link between Gold, Silver and Mercury ? I know they are all metallic elements and they are used in teeth fillings but any other ideas Thanks

Thanks for letting us know. I was thinking along the wrong lines.

But the reasoning seems odd as there others that also fit the bill -like iron (Fe) and lead (Pb)? (And sodium if we include non-metals). I suspect there are others too.

There's also Tunsten (W) and I think this is a very tenuous link. You might as well say none of them include the letter A. Nice to have an update though. Lots like me may have pondered over this question even if we didn't post.

I agree, pixie, but I can see other answers which seem equally valid -like those suggested or 'all have more consonants than vowels'.
