In Microsoft Word 2000, how do I stop the current date being inserted into an old document if I want to print off a copy of it; upon printing today's date will be inserted into the letter even though it may have been done months/years previously! Thanks very much!

When you initially insert the date there is a small tick box saying something like "update automatically". If you make sure this is not ciked, it will not update.

I don't think you can change it once it has been sone though. If you want to know when the date should be, right click on the document icon and go to properties - this will tell you when the documetn was created and last accessed.
