Divide 300 by 15.
multiply by 13
as fractions, 2/15 are oaks and 13/15 are ash

so number of ash trees = 300 * 13/15 = 260
260
The way I would do it - for every 15 trees, 2 are oak and 13 are ash. How many 15's in 300? 20 - so there are 20 x 2 oak trees (40) and 20 x 13 ash trees (260).
2+13=15
Divide 300 by 15=20.
2x20=40oak
13x20=260ash.
