Our team just won a local Rotary Quiz.,but one of the literature answers was Raymond Chandler (forgotten the question) but isn't it strange how you sometimes forget the simplest things.

It is. With luck these will be more than matched by the correct answers which surface from a bit of your memory which has been so rarely visited by your brain's search engine that you are convinced that they are guesses.

One brilliant answer was a leap of leopards, dont know where it came from.
Know the stupidest things giveup but then can't recall the obvious. Daftest I ever did was at a pub we had never been to before. The question was.... Where is Arthur's seat? Bit unfair I said....how do we know where Arthur sits..we've not been here before....and then the light dawned.... :-(

Gness, won a bottle of red, care to join me --Cheers
Now that's better...a bottle of red...I'll join you. We won three silver cups one year. It was like manic pass the parcel because none of us wanted to polish the flipping things.

If we win cups we wrap them in kitchen paper and put them in a cupboard until they are next needed, Then a quick rub over and they're OK.
We started to do that Giveup after the novelty of showing them off dimmed a bit. :-)

Ungrateful really aren't we.
Aren't we....it's when we start saying...Jeez have you seen the size of the cup???
Put a stupid answer or you're polishing it!
Love pub quizzes though.
