Hi, I've been researching my family history and managed to get back as early as my 25th Great Grandfather who was born around the year 1050 !
I worked out that everybody has 67,108,864 25th Great Grandparents.
Take this a little further to the 30th GGPs which for me would be back in around the year 900 AD and there would be 1,073,741,824 of them.
According to Wikipedia the total world population was around 310,000,000 in 1000 AD
So ...where did my other 763,741,824 30th Great Grandparents go (or come from) ?

You're (probably vastly) overstating your number of unique 30th GGPs; any time distant cousins marry, they have a common GGP somewhere along the line.

Assuming a generation is about 20 years, 30 generations back gets us to 1612.

Not sure either of these fully explains your dilemma.

Not sure either
Sorry, 1412.
We must all be related to each other from way back.
what supporting primary sources have you used to verify your line? Parish registers only started in England in 1537 and before that there were no records of births and marriage for the peasant class. Are your ancestors all gentry/nobility/royalty?
I assumed satindas was just making a point and may not even be researching his/er family tree

@dotty, Hi, I've mostly been using ancestry.co.uk . One of my ancestors was a member of the Brough family of Staffordshire who are descended from one Ralph deLimesi. (You can google that!) He was a member of the court of, and possibly related to William the conquerer. (The son of his sister)... so yes I might be royalty after all ;)
William the Conqueror.....hmmmm.....AKA Guillaume le Batarde, or William the Bastard.
I thought that his relationship to William the Conqueror was unproven.

@craft1948 , hence "possibly related" but he undoubtedly had close association.
@minotaur3..... That's the chappy ;)
