80 hornet, 3rd in Millennium Trilogy.
What is the theme for the answers? 80 refers to The Girl who kicked the hornet's nest by Stieg Larsson.
87 lemur , le mur = wall in France.
Are the answers all animals?
Question Author
The answers are all living creatures.

I have hornet as the answer for another question and I am sure that one is correct
Spotty Dog is right, the girl in the book he quotes is Lisbeth.
So, what's the other hornet question?
88 whelk?
Question Author
Bigjack. The other question that I have the answer hornet is "throne". It is a simple anagram and there does not seem an alternative answer unless you have any suggestions.
could throne refer to the peacock throne?
Stargazer - you say "a simple anagram of throne" But is it simple, or is the T left out to give HERON ??
Question Author
Vakayu. I considered this for an answer but could not see why it would be correct. What do you think? Whoever set these cryptic clues is a bit misleading for example the question "Insincere in grief" makes me think crocodile but the more accurate answer would be crocodile tears which is not a living creature.
Question Author
I have never heard of peacock throne but will research it now. As to Cruciformist there is no suggestion of missing off the T. The Question simply says Throne. I am sure that hprnet is actually the correct answer to No 80 however, so I am looking into Peacock now.
On that basis, I think peacock is correct. The Peacock Throne is a well-known phrase.

You are such a clever bunch of people. Thanks you. I still don't know the answer to "Dumb - dumber than they come".
88 I'm a gnu...
Question Author
Thanks you Calibex. That is the right answer. I never would have got it.
Question Author
For Cruciformist. In the Alzheimer's quiz one of the questions is "Paralympian Johnny" for which the answer is clearly Peacock. It therefore cannot be the answer to "Throne" which must therefore be hornet which is a simple anagram. It follows that "Lisbeth kicked the nest" is possibly not hornet. Could it be dragon nor wasp? This is doing my head in!!
