I heard on the radio that two police forces are encouraging people to report their family and friends who drink drive. There is a Crimestoppers reward of £1,000 for each person who is convicted.
Would you?

No, never.
I would report someone for drink driving without the incentive of a grand.
agree with 2sp
It's illegal to drink?
I wouldn't need to cash incentive either - what price a life?? I might not need (and haven't in the past) to report them though ... removing the car keys is usually sufficient (provided they can't access spares)

The amount of gin you put away Craft.....
no need for the incentive I would report as a last resort... if they insist on giving me the money I am sure cats protection could use it
I would (and in the past have) take the keys from someone drunk and planning on driving, but if that failed I would call the police.
Yes, I would - and they all know it too!!
If I knew of it I'd give them a good rollocking, but report them never.

ummmm, just out of curiosity - how would you feel if the drunk driver then killed someone whilst driving?
No, but I would do my best to stop them driving if I could.
I am of course referring to family only.
As a last resort, yes. It would be after my threats, so they knew it was me. Am experienced at smashing windscreens & puncturing tyres ;)
not for money, but if i thought they were well over the limit would do my best to persuade them not to drive. If worse case scenario would call the police,
No but I wouldn't be letting them drive.
To everyone who said no -

I think we would all try to stop someone from getting behind the wheel, but if someone snuck out of a party for instance, or you didn't know that they had headed off in the car - would you call the police then?
MrsO, I would be absolutely devastated. If I were in their company I would do everything in my power to prevent them getting in the car (it has happened) but I wouldn't grass them up.
To be honest 2sp it would depend on how drunk they were, where they were going etc etc etc. I can pretty much guarantee that where I live you'll never see another car after midnight or walker or cyclist or anything like that and so if someone was mildly tipsy then no I wouldn't. However if someone was hammered out of their face and driving at 70mph through the middle of a city then possibly I would.
hmmmm, i live next to a pub, this could be a nice earner for me
