13a. Nova Scotia
23a. Never never
9a. Ethereal (in the clue)
Any letters for 17a/7d?
17a. Correct ending?
17a/7d) holiday resort
Why is it HOLIDAY RESORT?
It looks like BB has logged off, so I assume it has something to do with Whitsuntide (whit week is an holiday)
I think the relevant part of the clue was what would make Whit with, which is why I thought correct ending.
I can't get into the head of the I Cryptic setter, some of his clues parse very well, while others can be right stinkers.
What do you think to my suggestion Shooty?
I must admit, I had to look twice at your answer. But i can see where you are coming from now. 50/50 with you and BB. Sorry for sitting on the fence.
Thanks folks. Still don't understand the wordplay. Anybody help?
No problem just thought that appropriate = correct and destination= ending
Yes i can see Danny. re-looking, I think holiday resort does fit better as whit is the holiday with appropriate surroundings (sun and tide) 'Whitsuntide'
Woild love to see the correct answer, but suppose that won't happen.
Got to fetch mother and take her to Hospital now, Catch you all later. : )
souxie will be back later. I will ask her then.
You've got it - ^^^ - Whit(sun) is a holiday, resort (it) to get 'with'
