Our 3 cats swear at us for using Stronghold on them, but they're all totally & resignedly flea-free, and have always been for as long as they've been treated with it.
I don't know about online ut I use a tea tree spary from Pets at Home. You spray it onto the brush and then brush the dog.
To my mind - Frontline is ineffective - avocet is reported to be good but you will be well advised to listen to the experts on this site
Advocate was given to me by the vert but we found it poor - very liquid and it dribbled everywhere. You can't beat Stronghold, we use it every month on the catz.
hmm ^^ by the Vet!
Thanks for the feedback boxtops - be good if you could say way it wasn't good.
For our cat, I alternate between Stronghold and Advantage (depending on which one's on offer). Both are very good, as my cat is allergic to flea bites.
I'm sure that it'll be available from the vet for dogs also.
have found frontline useless lately and have been using advocate which has been fine also does worms lung worm and earmites at the same time ( not tapeworms)
I too use Advocate, and give a tapeworm tablet every 3 months, have found it very effective so far!..........
Frontline spray is supposedly far more effective than the spot on treatment, although it is only available on prescription.

I prefer something more natural that using chemicals and use Billy No Mates, and CSJ Skinny Spray in the summer when I think there may be a problem with ticks.

I always think fleas is such an unsavoury word - in my household they are always referred to as mobile freckles.
for 2 years we have been putting garlic in the dog food, we have not seen a single flea since on any of our 4 dogs.
Advocate was so watery, hammerman - I complained about it, and the manufacturers arranged (via my vet) for a nurse to come and show me how best to spot it on the cats' necks so it didn't dribble all down their fur. I still couldn't get on with it, and it smelled odd too - a bit like hyacinths - it made No.1 Son's eyes water (he gets cat hay fever). Stronghold is so much better, one spot on the back of the neck and they are done.
Agree with jules, will only use Frontline spray and then only when needed. I don't agree with putting chemicals into your pets on a regular basis, either flea treatments or wormers, only when there is a need.
