Am off to a Pub Quiz next week ,we have all been told it's themed around the Diamond Jubilee, so can anyone tell me who was in the government at the time? also any info on the Jubilee tube line ....Iknow that was to commemorate the Silver Jubilee, but I'm sure there will be some sneaky questions. Any other hints/tips welcome. My team usually end up near the bottom,so I'm looking to astound them with my knowledge!!

TOH - so that's the reason we're getting an extra day off work!
Queen Victoria was the ONLY other British monarch to achieve a diamond jubilee. George III missed out by a few months, though he was off his trolley by then. Obviously the younger the age at which one succeeds the greater the chances of reaching such milestones. Don't forget that the King of Thailand came to the throne in 1946 (66 years) and the all-time record of Louis XIV of France (72 years), having come to the throne at the age of 5.
