Courses are quite long part time over about a year for a basic course would not be unusual

So it is about one year. And in the first month you will learn only a few letters(4-5 letters)
not quite like that Hull college run a course

are you sighted? If so 1 year is a gross over estimation (i think) after all there are only 26 letters to learn
Its not only the letters but the application of the code, reading skills on different surfaces...
i wonder what they consider 1 year part time to be? A day every week? An evening every month?

Not just 26 letters, though. There is upper case, lower case, numerals, symbols such as @ and punctuation.

Learning to decode Braille by sight is one thing, learning to read it by touch is another thing entirely.
