About 8 weeks ago I injured my knee playing Rugby (you can guess which position by my user name). I went to hospital and they said that I had strechted the ligaments and that it would heal ok, they strapped it up and gave me crutches. Anyway I'm now walking  ok, climbing stairs is still painfull, gentle cycling is ok. When I cycle I get a sort of dull ache same walking really and even on the cross trainer, is this ok?. Can anybody say what sort of physio I should do, I mean like say, light leg extensions? I just get the feeling that muscle is wasting. What is the normal approach to getting back to normal?

Hello mate, you def need to see a sports physio to help you get back on track, they will give you proper excercises to do. Are you from London?, if so I can recommend a brilliant lady who sorted my hubby out after a rather nasty ankle injury whilst playing squash.
I agree - a sports injury physio asap.  I thought any injury should have REI, i.e. rest, elevation and ice for the first few days, with tubigrip support and exercise of the right kind following. I think the Hospital A&E need a refresher course in first aid.
