Did anyone watch this earlier on channel 5? I found it amazing that Paddy still had such masoginistic and chauvanist views. But i was also surprised at the cleanliness of his home. Not saying i expected it to be dirty, but his wife Rosanne could help clean up hospital wards. Maybe we need some travellers doing the cleaning? If only their men would let the wooooman work.

Through all his bluster he had a soft side, especially when he spoke about his inability to read and his lack of education.
No wonder the caravan furniture is so clean, they never take off the plastic wrappings, couldn't stand sitting on a chair/sofa with all that crap!
Hes a lovely man- theres no badness in his ways i dont think

Like hell id do what his wife does- and i expected it to be as clean

Theyre happy the way they are i suppose xx
Question Author
The wife cleaned all the time it was pristine.
Question Author
tinkerbell would you do that for any man i wonder?
Ermmmm. Id probobly do the majority of the cleaning because id want to ensure it was done right!!

My mums the "main cleaner"

However i think id make my hubby a sandwich now and again but id expect one back now and again LOL

Mum and dad take turns really at dinner....my dad wouldnt hang out washing or do windows but he does hoover and tidy up and his fair share!!!!!!!!
Ps: i done everything for an ex with very very little back- to me, it dosent work- they lose respect for you

Paddy however i think he loves his mrs no end and respects her x

Are you only 23? If so you have a lot ahead of you and your opinions may change over time?
25 in a few months.....

As i say i think id naturally do the majority of cooky cleany stuff....

But i would expect a man to do his share too.

I may be younger but i played the grown up too soom and ive experienced living with a lazy sh1t and never again!!! I would like looked after too xx
Question Author
We alll want looked after irrespective of age. You have many years ahead of you. be patient love will find you.
I think you forget he has just been up in court and sentenced for fighting with his cousins and now on so many hours of unpaid community work.

Its not like it is on TV, giving the public that he is a nice guy in real life.

As most of gypsy's, they never pay income taxes, council tax and nhs contributions but they demand the service and get it!

Dont fall for the Irish blarney that comes across on TV, he is making a fortune!
Im trying teddy lol .....ive been patient but it wearing thin hahah xx
Question Author
Ive been there done it. all behind me now, but i wouldnt change a thing.Well maybe 1 or 2.
Question Author
Trt i like him for what ive seen. he may be no angel but who is today?
Teddy_boy,

Im no angel either but, I have always paid my dues for the services I am entitled to.
Havent seen the programme you mention..but then,I cannot stand these "Travellers",and their ways.
The men remain ignorant of so many things, and proud of the fact. They largely seen no use in Education, for themselves,or the women.
The misogynism they display,is almost neanderthal..From what I have witnessed, their work is often shoddy..and they can easily resort to "menacing actions/words",in order to get their way.
Their "raison d"etre"seems to be"screw"people, for what they can get,pay no taxes or National Insurance, pay scant regard to Planning regulations..etc..
Question Author
Perhaps you wouldve benefitted from this programme zhukov? Trt its easy to critocise.
Theres good & bad in all walks of life and the traits you both describe are not limited to travellers.....

Unfortunately there are people near me & you who avoid paying taxes/NI and do shoddy work etc etc.....not because they are travellers x
Question Author
Theres good and bad in all walks of life
Tinkerbell you sound like a very sensible and sweet person. im sure life will be good to you.
No thanks...Ive seen similar programmes in the past...at Appleby Fair..etc..
It tends to portray.."rough diamonds"who have "hearts of gold"and women who obey, and cook and clean, and gossip..then the outlandish, ridiculous weddings..proof that "lots of cash"washes around..and the viewer is left with a little homily on"Aww,they just want to be left alone,to continue"their way of life"..whereby they ignore the laws, and dues that most of us abide by..
