Head could apply to three of them, but am dubious regarding leafe.
Hi 08012006, I am still unable to help with a clue. At the moment I have got to page 752 in working through this volume again! Will let you know if/when I find the answer. I remember how we worked together with the 2009 Quiz. Good Luck.

Tattershall7: I have even e-mailed Whitaker's to enquire if the four words should have capitals, making them perhaps names of individuals ! There is no reference to leafe anywhere on the web that I have found.
Question Author
To Tattershall7: reply received from W.A. as follows:-
"The words do appear in the Almanack with capital initial letters. The first letter of each word has been changed to lower case for the purposes of the quiz"
08012006: Thank you very much for this information, it is a great help. I am still searching for this answer. In Charities & Societies, I am sure you will have come across Cook p663 and Stone p664, but no Leafe or Gates in this section. Will persevere. Good luck.
Hi 08012006: Having worked my way through this volume a second time without success, I started again and found National Parks interesting! Good Luck.

Very pleased to help. Good luck. If you win a prize, it was meant to be, enjoy it. You may be able to help me next year. I still don`t understand why W.A should change this answer from capitals to lower case on the entry form. Have a good year.
