so often you read about people completing a game in a weekend.

in my book you've not completed it unless you've explored everything, found every secret and unlocked every acheivement. Just running through the main story isnt completing it.

Depends how good the game is, if i enjoy it i will try and rinse as many of the achievements that i can but some are almost impossible without cheating or help from Youtube for guidance etc!
I can honestly say ive never 1000G a game yet, i am lazy though and cant be bothered a lot of the time.

having said that the only game I've completed 100% was Ghost Recon: Island Thunder on the old xbox

I only play as far as I am compelled to. If a game gets too easy, or crap, or crassly written it'll get put down.

However, when it comes to completion Gears of War on Horde mode with 3 friends (and beer) was probably the furthest I've gone to stupidly complete something.

Or StreetFighter/Marvel Vs Capcom - but then, you never finish those games because there is always one more match, and always someone a little bit better than you.

If you're talking about completing GTA:SA to 100%.... then the game can get stuffed, it's just being a pain at that point.

Equally I'd be happy to ascend a single character in Nethack!

All the best,

Do you not always turn the difficulty up from the beginning?

And Farcry 2.... can you finish that? I think I'm a bit "stuck" as it feel like endless repeats of the same mission. Have i missed something?

Oh, "time attack mode" then! Sounds good actually - just try and get the thing cleared before the weekend is over etc? Might be a plan actually.

oddly enough GTA:SA was a game I had in mind when posting this. I did attempt it and gave up after spraying about 30 of 100 tags. There is a balance between acheivement and entertainment! that game really pushed the ticket.

I'd like to have the time to play more but its pretty much restricted to unsocialble hours when no-one is watching the TV

They do go down easy Doc, the slightest nudge of a Jeep and they're done for!

"which map are you on?"

There is more than one map? I think I've really missed a point of progress somewhere. I'm still in the first map with the two factions in the town and mike's bar just round the corner. I've been all over this map on various missions but I don't feel like I'm actually getting anywhere?

Protips required please!
