Why do you see some cats with a hanging belly or sagging underbelly wobbling about whne the move....not necessarily overweight cats either....what causes this?

My little boy has a saggy belly, he doesn't appear to be overly fat though.

His sister is long haired and is just a huge puff ball of hair - with a vicious temper.

My friend has 2 male cats, they are not overweight, in excellent health but both look like they need a tummy tuck, bless !
It's cats who are in good nick that has this, All cats should has this visable if they dont its because they are fat

It seems to happen in elderly cats that lose muscle toning, just as we get the underarm flop. I have no idea why it would happen in younger cats that are otherwise healthy though.
more obvious in neutered cats for some reason
I think its needed as when you see a cat at full stretch or leaping they elongate their bodies and they need a bit of 'give' in their furry suits

Interesting answer Rowan, that would make alot of sense too....they are very flexible creatures.....
where do you get clothes suitable to dress a cat?
