I have just tried to help someone with an answer to the Skeleton Crossword.

Unfortunately insufficient and inaccurate information was supplied.

Maybe part of the fault is my own by not anderstanding what was required. Could someone please enlighten me as to what this puzze is?

I remember the 'Skeleton' as a cryptic puzzle in the Sunday Express (with just 4 squares shaded in) back in the 1960s when I was at school.
At that time, although unable to solve the intricacies of cryptic clues, I treated this as a logic puzzle (based on symmetry) and 9 times out of ten completed the grid for my father to solve.

I would appreciate answers to the following:

a) Is this a Sunday Express puzzle?
b) Is it still as described above?
c) Are clues still provided to arrive at the answers?

Hi gen, hope you're well? :-)

Your 3 Q's have been answered by yourself - "Yes, yes & yes"

I've just killed myself getting the paper back from the recycling, so the clues we wanted (??) were -

15a Farm division not opened - looks like (B)Ranch
16a Band in a European town - no idea...

Thank you Lie-in-King, (Yes I am well)

Thanks for confirming that this is still the same puzzle that I remember from my youth.

I will continue to do my best with the data provided by the questioners.
Thank you also for your sterling efforts above and beyond the call of duty by retrieving the paper from the salvage.

It's in the Mail on Sunday. At least the one I do is, I don't know if it is in any other paper but the way you describe it that is the same system.
