Need Your Advice On Micro SD Please

I bought two micro SD cards, 2 GB and 8 GB. Usually I format all external drives before using. The 2 GB formatted perfectly, however, the 8 GB won’t format and in ‘properties’ the circle is blue and it’s saying 0% is used. With the 2GB the circle was pink. Is the 8 GB defected, should I return it? Or might it be the computer not reading it?

Thanks for looking at my question, and your answers are much appreciated.

Assuming you're using Windows, try formatting with the Disk Management tool (within Computer management within administrative tools).
I don't know what operating system you're using so can't be more precise - it's probably within Control Panel.

Thanks Vagrant, but the 8gb is still not formatting.
Can you be a bit more specific please? What error message do you get? What does Disk Management show?
More importantly: What operating system?
It's XP Pro according to the other thread on AB behaviour.

Rojas - Windows XP Pro.

Vagrant - I'm sorry but I don't remember the error message, and I cannot format the card again at this time because I don't have it.

I'm looking forward to knowing how you both will solve this. :-)

Thank you both for taking the time to reply, and for helping me.
