38 - I've got THEORIC from
The Greek = The Doric, no Democrat so delete "D" and
Gothic king = Theodoric, no ditto so delete "do" and
Shakespeare uses theoric in three plays according to SHAKESPEARE-ONLINE.COM

49 - INTENSIVE is anag of V NINETIES
