I have completed the grid but can't figure out what element is removed in 29ac. Any help please?

Assuming you've got ALA in at 29ac, the answer was ALAMORT, (anagram of ROAM and (F)LAT(S), meaning half-dead. So MORT, a word for the three-year-old salmon, is the element removed.
