a) The actual clue is not clear from the way you laid out the question.

b) I have tried to be helpful and given you all the possible words that fit your letter pattern. None of them mean 'Answer'
I therefore pointed out that your spelling was not perfect so I will now expand on that and specifically suggest that you check the spelling of the other words that gave you that letter pattern. You will probably find one or more of them in error.

Shelby. I was definitely not trying to be clever. I read it as you had an answer to 5d.....
You must admit to someone who did not manage to buy the paper today there is room for a misunderstanding. Life is too short to all be falling out!
