Sorry, Meabby! I have no sensible ideas ... are you sure of both your letters?
a far-fetched suggestion ... gaur - Indian wild ox (moo?) - could sound like gore which could be disconcerting, but I don't like it.
Hi meabby! Is there any chance you've missed a letter from the clue & the 'R' is wrong?..

I was trying 'disconcerting' out & got 'fazing', so...

If it read "Moon's appearance...", then -

Faze (disconcerting) 'reported' (sounds like) Phase (??)

Not really happy with it, but I have no other ideas at the moment, sorry... :-(
12a fleme .... flee + m
12a Fle-M-e
15a St-a-Simon
10d bean
10d Bean - 'Pulse' is the definition, & '...when listened to' the wordplay

That would be my choice...
