Hello again - just one clue left to get this time (sorry to be a nuisance and thanks again for all the help given with the other three). It's 28 across and is 8 letters long.
The clue itself is

'Evensong has ING in it' and the letters I have got are as follows:

A-R-N-D-

Serenade ?
donegore I have just trawled the entire New Shorter Oxford
Dictionary for any words that fit your letters and there are NO words that fit.
Obviously one or more of your letters are incorrect.

Again everyone - thank you so much for all your help! Have now got it safely in the post. I realised that my answer going down was wrong - meant to be 'mustard cress' - hence making 'serenade' the right one for 28 across (sorry for putting you to all that trouble, no.2!)

Best wishes

Fiona
