Hope nobody minds me posting this, only I've spoken to one or two people on here in the past who, when they hear that I have connections with Leicester's De Montfort Hall, tell me they've either worked at, been to, or even nearly been to the venue.

Well now the hall needs you. In 2013, De Montfort Hall celebrates its centenary and, with that in mind, my bloke's been given the job of documenting its history - with the help of those who have attended the thousands of events that have been held there over the years.

He's looking to document people's memories of shows and events, and wants people to tell him - verbally or in writing - of their first memory of or most memorable event at the hall. Did you take part in a show? Did you meet anyone special? Did you sneak in to a show (don't worry, we won't tell them)? Do you have any photos, programmes, tickets - or even recordings - that you could share? He's also keen to interview people in order to create an audio record for the archive.

The invitation isn't only open to customers. Agents, artistes and staff past and present are all welcome to contribute, and he'd like bad memories as well as good ones.

If you (or someone you know) would like to contribute, then my bloke can be contacted at [email protected] .

Hi:
My dad, Tom Pass was Hallkeeper at the DMH from about 1942 tp 1961. I grew up with the hall, and eventually worked part time sometimes as an usher, sometimes back stage.
I have a few pix: of the time the postwar makeover when the ceiling was repaired after being cracked by the bomb that flattened the Vic Park pavilion, the hall in various set-ups, my dad in his uniform. I also have the corporations plans and organisation of the Queen's royal visit. I also have many memories of the stars backstage.
If you're interested, I'm ChrisPass@ gmx.com
I hope to here from you,
Cheers
Chris
