9 across: A big lump found down under, as it's now called. I have U - U - U ; only the middle one is certain. I would go for UHURU, but that's not "down under"? Someone please enlighten me.

Isn't that (or something similar) the Aborigne word for Ayer's Rock in Australia?

It's Uluru. I just looked it up. That's certainly a big lump found down under!

The Answer is Uluru - it is the aboriginal name for Ayres Rock, which is in Australia
