Thank you, and a happy New Year to you, cruciverbalist...
I did have a Welsh dictionary....once
and a very happy new year to you also!
Happy New Year to you.

Had to brush up on my Dylan Thomas .
Ummm........... thanks for the link..........I think ! I suspect that this is going to impinge on my Friday night.

Can I ask, is 8 down the alternative spelling ? If it's the mynydd I think it is - it's missing an R.

I mean the first part.

Is this any help eddiebun ?

Thanks for everyone's good wishes !
Thanks - that's got me 14 Ac. as well . I promise not to ask for any more!

I can't log on to my Times Crossword account so I'm missing my normal TLS Friday fix.

I'm also away from my own computer at the moment, so I'm missing all my favourite links and prized TEA spell-checker.

The closing date's not too soon, either. So I should be okay.

Thanks again, and Happy New Year.

Thanks again. I don't think my girlfriend is going to be happy with me. I'm obviously going to be stuck in front of my computer all weekend !
Just to let you know of my progress, Cruciverbalist. I've completed the grid apart from 30d and the perimeter. I've also found the alternative mynydd spelling from UMW.

I'm in a very quiet satellite Lab tomorrow, with plenty of time to Google the remaining clues and to start on the TLS New Year Quiz.

I have also now managed to log on and complete the weekly TLS crossword, although I still can't submit crossword entries online.

Thanks again for the link to the Spectator Crossword, its now in my favourites !

Thanks for your update eddiebun - glad to hear that your timesonline access has improved, and Good Luck with the New Year Quiz !

I think i've finished the crossword now.

But, If one of the mountains is Crib Goch, I have no room to put Y Lliwedd. Am I right, and should I just drop the Y ?
Question Author
The penultimate peak in the horseshoe is given in the preamble as one word, so ignore the Y
Thanks - I should have spotted that!
