Can anyone throw light on the second answer? I have Ardrossan, but surely the distance to the 30,000 acre island (Arran?) is more than 6 miles by ferry. Should the island be Bute and if so I have the wrong railway station.

The Island is not Arran. Arran is significantly more than 30,000 acres. Try Bute.........
Arran is 43201 ha, and takes 55 minutes by ferry. Bute is 12 217 ha. As 1 hectare = 2.47 acres Bute seems to be teh answer (30175 acres). Hope this helps

Bute seems to fit in terms of distance and size, but now I am confused about the ferry port - could it be Skelmorlie?

Thanks for your help. Just realised I had chosen the wrong power station and now the answer is clear.
