34 across is likely to be hunter-gatherer:

hunter-gatherer n () a member of a society that lives by hunting and gathering fruit, etc, as opposed eg to cultivating crops. (Chambers)
And yes, 55 across is Sky MarsHals

Thanks for supporting Sky Marshals, Town Crier, but I realise I forgot to give you the letters I already have in for 34ac. H?C?E?-G?T?E?E? Hence the reason for 'hickey' even though it doesn't make any sense to me. Any further thoughts?
Ah, my apologies Annie - it is almost certainly hunter-gatherer but I forgot to provide you with the Chambers definition of hunter:

hunter n a person or animal that hunts (fem huntress); a horse used in hunting, esp foxhunting; a watch whose face is protected with a metal case (a half-hunter if that case has a small circle of glass let in).

If you would like to provide me (and/or others) with the clue that gives your 'C' perhaps there is an alternative?

It's down to my stupidity. Just spotted someone else's question about 20dn. Cheap at a tanner? (8-9). I'd put twopence-halfpenny, hence the C, but of course it's twopenny-halfpenny which makes your hunter-gatherer right! Thanks a million Town Crier!!
No, not your stupidity at all. Happens to all us crossword 'fans' ! Anyway, you are welcome.
