Christopher Columbus reached America.
The last Muslim kingdom in Spain,Granada, was conquered .
Also the expulsion of the Jews from Spain forcing them either to convert or emigrate.
This date also symbolically marks the close of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Eraly Modern Era.
Also the first grammar of any vernacular language, Castilian, is produced.

March 30 - Ferdinand and Isabella sign a decree expelling all Jews and Black ladinos from Spain unless they convert to Roman Catholicism.
August 3 - Christopher Columbus first sails to the Americas (did he know which way to go though?)
August 3 - The Jews are expelled from Spain.
October 12 - Christopher Columbus's expedition makes landfall in the Caribbean. The Italian explorer believes he has reached East Asia (silly sod).
