24 CC is cricket club, I think.

27 I think Beat = pound, (well, I wanted an E so that gave me one)

The last word in the message is the past tense of a common word.

I've just Googled the person in residence and the opening to the Wiki entry showed what they were famous for. The three blocks each have a word, together they make a phrase.

They are what i had ....now corrected the extra from 25d ( i had the wrong anagram giving the wrong extra) and it makes sense.

3 blocks?

The preamble mentions 'shading three blocks'...

Thanks ...will think on it...

I have the grid filled the than the uncrossed in the unclued. I have the "instructions" but can make no sense of it. Any hints would be appreciated.

Unclued was part of ''The (4 letters AND 6 letters) Movement'', he lived in ''The (3 letters) House''.

Five (Roman 'V' in the message ) squares each contain the 3 letter word - draw lines between them for the house. The 4 & 6 letter words form the windows and 'AND' is the door (all three to be highlighted). Then colour it in.
