Good morning, a very interesting offering by Chalicea with “Strauss work?” in the Crossword Centre.My grid is almost complete, but my weakness persists with discovering the misprints. Help with the following will be appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

( PREAMBLE: 30 lies between 15 and 36 ( all unclued ). Solvers must appropriately shade 26 cells including the correct state, and obey a further instruction given by corrections of misprints appearing in the definition parts of 18 clues. )  www.crossword.org.uk/strauss.html

the misprints should be apparent from the solutions for the other 8.

Can you give a couple of remaining  mispprint clues with solutions

1st word is ADD ...the A comes from misprint of villEins in 1a

Reading over with a fine-tooth comb and think I've just found one in:
16a    Cold rage about student is a cross blunder (7)  CLANGER    G(ROSS)?

The S which starts the 10 letter word comes from 22a ...Set exercise not pet exercise...

33a gives a P ..... Pet in Dublin

   We seem to have crossed, roslyn!

1    Southern conservative local taxes involving regularly well-set villeins (10)  SCELERATES            A

i think 16d needs to be crAss blunder giving the A required as the 2nd letter of the final word?

No, Matakari - 16 is Crass rather than Cross, giving you an A. Your G would make the five-letter word begin CG... unlikely!

agree crAss an villEins

sorry crAss and villAins

Could this be one?
28    Upset touchy deity representing Jove for the Greeks (4) EROS   L(ove )

lloks okay to me.

What letters have you got from the 18 now?

Question Author

Thanks, I’ve been out for a while and am now back for the corrected letters. I’m missing six and am going over my clues again to see if I can locate them. I have the following:

1a=A, 10a =D, 19a =D,  22a = S, 25a = U, 26a = S,  33a = P

5d = S, 16d = A, 24d = B,  28d = L, 32d = E

plus the C from NAC?

Think you should get there shortly

Matajari, you surely don't need us now? You've been given most of the letters, you know the first word is Add, you've been given most of the letters in the second word and maybe of the thord one too!  There's only a little bit of effort involved in filling in the spaces...

I'm not doing the crossword and I think I know what  the 3 word instruction is

.... maybe if I was doing it I wouldnt be able to see the wood for the trees. I wont keep you in suspense for much longer. ..be back in a hour

Thanks, Bobbin - that's what I thought would be the case for most people with all the information previosuly given.

Matakari, remember ProfessorMaisie's earlier hint about  the thee...

Question Author

Thanks, NACW! I believe the six missing letters are crucial in my breakthrough for this one.

Matakari. Thanks. From the letters given to you, I think you should already have Add Susp?? s??? Cable.

As you have got 30 A, and ProfessorMaisie's hint,  the blanks really should be straightforward.

hang on.....there's also my clue at 12:38...
