tricky this week
Can I add my question on to this post?
I can't get a number out of both 3d (S?M?OLS?T) and 44a (B?IE?IC)
Please help!
3 D is split 6,2 and then joins 8, 4 letters and 38 (4 letters)
44 A is a normal clue, Farr.
Sorry, Farr, I could have been clearer - joining 3,8,38 gives a phrase and that has a number connected to it. 41 A isn't in English and your first 'i' is wrong.
Thanks NAC. As usual coming to my rescue!
However I still have a problem with 3d. You mention it's 6,2 but there are 9 letters in 3d. I have S?M?OLS?T. Where am I going wrong?
Farr, sorry - it was my counting, it's 7, 2 - and easy to work out the first word!
"Q" is a number, and 41/39/1D is a 7D. If you can work out what 7D is, then the "Q" aspect becomes much clearer....
Question Author
I have worked out what 7 down is (i think) only word that would fit p?a?m
But dont undestand what the third word could be of 1D if its M?A
Question Author
I have cracked it
thanks everyone for their help!
Can anyone shed any light on the title "Problem XIII"?
Dredd, I meant to look back - but didn't - to see if Pabulum had done similar-themed puzzles in the past.
