Reported that my boiler had given up the ghost Friday just gone.
Was told that the earliest that they could get to me was Tuesday.
Working TUE, WED, THUR...
So Friday it is!

(IF, they decide to turn up...doubtful going on past experience)

God, I would give anything for a bath right now.
A strip was with a kettle of water just isnt the same.

When are they bulldozing your block, Nails? Any news about that?
That happened to me one January and I had no hot water or heating for a couple of days until I went to stay at my parents. Boiler packed up and had to fork out £600 for a new one!

Going to be an announcement in January Tills.
One of my neigbours went to a meeting in Stoke about it.
Asked a few awkward questions and basically the response was if people failed to leave their was f all they could do about it?

My flat may be on stilts in years to come ;-)
600?...that's all?
Just hope the weather stays mild nailit.
Fill your sink or the largest pot you've got with multiple kettles of boiling water. Combined with cold you can have a decent wash...use a pot to pour it over yourself. It works.
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot

Unsettling times for you then, Nails.
It's a shame there are no more 'Baths' you can go to whilst you wait for your boiler repair.

Not moaning about it as such.
Just a bit gauling when landlords (albeit)
the council, dont honor their contracts.
BUT because its council it
isnt important.
Oddly enough, nailit, people who own their homes and have to pay separately for plumbers and builders and electricians to come and fix things don’t always get immediate service either. We cope the same as everyone else in that situation has to cope. You’ll cope.
Pasta, that was in 1999 and one of the cheaper boilers. These days they can cost in excess of 2k.
Have a cold bath. Once you take the plunge and get in it, it doesn't feel cold anymore............apparently.
Tiggs, I got my boiler in 2006/7...it was £1,000 then. Still in decent working order according to the engineer who last serviced it.
That's not bad for 2006/7.
Just a suggestion but could you pop to the local baths and have a shower after a quick swim?
I sometimes suspected the guy got them off the back of a truck ;))
