This setter seems quite lazy to me. Consumes is just about OK but again wheres the anagram indicater?.

Bob - Alphapuzzle cryptics do take liberties but here I would suggest that 'consumes' could be considered an anagram indicator.

May be but if consumes is the anagram indicator what would be the instruction to remove a letter or look within as its not a full anagram??
