I can’t remember on which thread we were discussing the problem of using the ‘greater than/less than’ symbols on AB, but TTT has used one in the heading of his thread here.

I knew it was possible. I think the answer might be to leave spaces before and after.

if you use them on either side of text, it often does wipe out what's in between.

Maybe spacing works I'm not sure.

Just tried it with no spaces and it wouldn't let me post.

Seems the problem is solved. Hope Atheist and Pixie see this.
These symbols are interpreted by browsers as HTML markup or JavaScript scripting but, as you've already discovered, not if surrounded by spaces because that would be invalid markup.
Space, the final font 'ere.
Now that is clever, douglas.
