You wont find a bloody link. This is real life experience.
how are things with your mum

If I had hair, I'd tear it out at the sheer amount of ignorance surrounding the present state of the NHS.
I was just thinking about you and your Mum tonight Nailit. I hope you are OK

Nailit, what are the actual rules of the hospital? I appreciate things are different because of covid. But while they can stop you from entering a room, they can't stop your mum from leaving it. This is why hospital beds are mobile.
Are you allowed into the hospital at all? As far as a corridor? How close?

Shes stuck in a side room with no tv or anything, with a broken hip, in agony and dying of cancer to boot and the ward manager wont allow a visit in case covid is bought on to the ward...despite admiting that there are covid patients on his (orthopaidic) ward anyway.
sorry is all i can offer
Has your mum been tested for covid?

Not as far as im aware of pix.
No symptons anyway
Sorry, nailit... I've maybe missed something... are they trying to prevent her from being wheeled out to visitors?

Depends upon the ward manager Pix.
Mum ended up on a ward whereby the ward manage is either terrified of covid or he's a complete nob who refuses to let end of life care patients be with their families.

My mother quietly died in a side room. Fortunately I was there, but only just. My mother in law died in a side room on her own. No covid, but my husband and I couldn't be at their side 100% of the time and neither can nursing staff. They both had the dignity of a side room to themselves.

Are hospitals not allowing close relatives visit dying relatives in side rooms?

A very difficult time for you Nailit and you have my sympathy. We always want the very best for our loved ones, but sometimes it is impossible. I hope you are allowed to be at her side.
Me neither, baldric, just going with what is posted...
Are you allowed as far as the nearest corridor, nailit? Can she not be brought to you.... if that is the only option? They can't stop her from leaving her room if she wants to. She isn't sectioned or arrested (I presume...).

I'll put that to my sister tomorrow Pix.
