Most across clues are normal. In Down clues, a letter has to be moved before solving.

13a. Engine’s connecting pin bent regularly inwards, either side of tappet (6)

38a. Overheard mischief, once intended for delivery of goods on trust (8)

3d. Most common translation of Bible, also originally set in song (9)

24d. Giotto’s apogee until driven by one not long ago (8)

Thanks.

This is Inquisitor, hankir - you're a day early for the other one.

13 is obscure, but it's a body part (and only 5 letters) def is first 3 words - anag InWaRdS + T(appe[t])... normally it's the '????? PIN', but it's still ok without the 2nd word.
38 'bale' would be 'mischief' [so it ounds like...].
3d anag BIBLE + 'originally set' = S[et] in(side) 's(n)og' = 'PET' - def 'most common' (in the societal way).
24d 'until' = TO (d)'riven by' = 'interrupted by' a 6 letter word for - '(d)one not long ago' the def is the Italian word for the period of Giotto's art.
