Iliad Overrule 36?
37 Iliad
37 I've seen this as Iliad, but with a comment that the Iliad is from Homer, not Virgil.
21d.Overrule?
36a. Telltale
37a.Idyll?
The Iliad is attributed to Homer not Virgil.
maybe the setter isn't a classicist
Neil are you sure of the number of letters in 37a? Virgil's most well known epic is the Aeneid
paper's gone with the recycling but I think (?) Iliad matched with the crossers.
Iliad is the right answer, it's the clue that is wrong.
A quick check of the puzzle & the crossers for 37a leave - I?I?D
I still have the paper, letter count is 5. Haven't done the crossword yet
As Dave said maybe the setter isn't a classicist.
